KVK Mokokchung is providing location specific advisory service on agri and allied activities in both local and english dialets through short messaging Service to all registered farmers, so far 350 registered farmers are availing this facility. About Us

KVK MokokchungThe Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mokokchung was sanctioned in the year 2003 and set up in an area of 23.2 hacters of land at Yisemyong (where SARS is located) provided by the Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Nagaland. The host institute is the Directorate of Agiculture, Govt. of Nagaland.

The actual activities started functioning from the month of May 2006 after the appointment of multisisciplinary team in six disciplines viz. Agronomy, Plant Protection (Entomology), Horticulture, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Vety & AH and Agriculture extension.

The centre was officially inaugurated by Dr. C D Mayee Chairman (ASRB, New Delhi) on 26th July 2006. The foundation stone for the administrative building was laid by Shri. Neiphiu Rio Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland on 25th Sep. 2007 and was inaugurated by Dr. K D Kokati Deputy Director General (Agri. Extension) ICAR New Delhi on 7th Sep 2009.

The KVK Mokokchung is located at 1150 m above msl is 17 km away form the district headquater Mokokchung. The annual rainfall is about 1100-1400 mm and is mostly received during june to September from south west monsoon.
